As someone said previously, you might get overwhelmed with the amount of skills, and builds. Take your time and develop your own playstyle. You can always start a new character and use the insta level 80 on it. One thing you can do is create characters and use the L80 Boost to try them out in The Silverwastes.
Elementalists are a pro player's choice. Lowest health of all classes, very unforgiving of mistakes. Until you master the class, you will die a lot. Also, one of the most complicated classes, with 20 weapon skills available at one time (5 per attunement). Try it out in Sliverwastes for a few hours minimum.
So I make a new character, and I immediately try to use my level 80 boost. Nothing happens. I got a pack of dyes and some 15 slot bags but my character is not level 80 and I didn't get the box of gear I thought I was supposed to get. Apparently I should have been teleported to the Silverwastes as well, but that also didn't happen.
The game doesn't begin at 80. In fact going by sheer number of zones, hearts, vistas, events, etc., the 1-80 game is still probably bigger than the 80 content combined. But to answer your question, the trading post or karma merchants in the Orr zones. If you "know the basics", you should know what stats to gear a level 80 character with.
If you find exploration boring or something, buy an xpac, use one lvl 80 boost on an alt account, play the first half of the story step of PoF, get your mount, go back to your lvl 40 character, and explore the world with it :D
Technically every class can get a build or two that can benefit greatly from celestial gear, so just pick whatever you find cool. However, most people will say Guardian, but I think that's not the best option. I'd like to share some Revenant propaganda. With celestial gear you're getting gateway to almost every possible spec in the game as a Revenant.

You will end up being overwhelmed with too much information at once, and its going to put a damper on your new player experience. GW2 leveling is pointless, uninformative, drawn out content gating, and nothing more than that.
Boosting a character to 80 and obtaining a mount will forever damn you prevent you from experiencing a large Tyria. Mounts are useful for getting from place to place, but most importantly, they're used by veteran players to skip content. As another user commented in the thread, Tyria feels small when you're on a mount.
If you use the Level-80 Boost to advance your character to max level, you won’t get the level-up rewards you would have earned from normal leveling. That said, the package of rewards from consuming the boost is much more valuable than the normal level-up rewards.
The boost is for players who know the game like the back of their hand and have more immediate goals that can't wait for a regular level up. IMO it'd be wasted on your Ele at this point. I2aphsc • 4 yr. ago. If it's you first character that your leveling up to 80 do not use that boost.
1 Posted November 28, 2020 Hey guys, I'm new in GW2. And I used the boost item to get lvl 80, soo I tried to start the Heart of Thorns or Path of Fire journey, but I'm dying to much and having a low dps. Is there anything I should do before start quest's? Regards =) Linken.6345 Members 13.9k Posted November 28, 2020
