God of War âs endgame is a stark contrast to the tightly linked storytelling, world building and gameplay mechanics of the main game and the side quests available during that play-time. Once the credits roll on the main story, though, this tight-knit trinity takes a back seat to more traditionally gamified endgame affair.
Thanks to a graphics mode options breakdown from Press Start, it's been confirmed that God of War Ragnarok supports 120hz. In a practical sense, this means that it's designed to run with an unlocked framerate that aims to stay above 60fps. In a statement to IGN, Sony said that framerate will vary based on gameplay elements and the world location.
Youâre not going to notice a difference from PS4 Pro and PS5. The game hasnât been optimized so all youâre getting on PS5 right now is the same optimization that were available on PS4 Pro. Itâs still just upscaled 4K at 30 FPS or 1080p at 60 FPS. The only difference youâll notice is better load times. -2.
It appears God of War Ragnarok will feature a 4K 60FPS mode. The game will be released on November 9th 2022 for PS4 and PS5. Itâs the second and final chapter in the long-running seriesâ Norse Saga. It will see Kratos and his son Atreus contending with the eponymous cataclysmic event and fallout from the previous game.

4sDqf. No, it's locked at 30 fps in every PS4 model (even the Pro). The game runs natively at 1080p in PS4 and PS4 Slim and 4K at the Pro, I believe. I'm pretty sure its only upscaled 4k on the PS4 Pro. However, I've read something that you can change settings to get 60 FPS, but that may be a PS4 Pro thing only.
All three were amazing playbacks on a high end PC. I love the Deck -- I really do. At the same time, these games -- like big summer blockbuster movies and the "theatrical experience" -- deserve to be conveyed in the medium for which they were created; and that is on the big screen, at 60fps with all the settings turned up.
The game will feature Performance Mode. If you select it, the game will run in 1080p, but much smoother and faster. Presumably, that means it will run at 60 fps. If you do love God of War so much that youâre considering purchasing a PS4 Pro for it, you might want to go the extra mile and pick up the God of War PS4 Pro bundle. That PS4 is
Bottom line: Assuming the game works in Proton with minimal performance overhead, we should be able to get close to 60 FPS at original (PS4) quality settings at 720p. EDIT: Enough people have posted reasonable concerns that I can admit maybe 720p60 is being too optimistic.
It's a safe assumption that a console as powerful as the PS4 could run the same game in 60fps as well. However, I can't find any actual frame data on YouTube. I did find a list on there called "PS4 60fps games Part 1-3" and it mentioned Shovel Knight, but no frame data like DF's. I've played it today and it feels like a locked 30fps or 60fps.
Some of the most popular games on the market right now run at 60 FPS â games like: Overwatch. Black Ops 4. Fortnite. Battlefield V. Apex Legends. Rocket League. Sure, you wonât be able to play God of War, Spider Man, or Red Dead Redemption 2 at a high frame rate, but then, these are some of the best looking games out there.
